It became clear to me during my last year of school that I would like to do something with electrical engineering – the offer of work alongside studies at Nexans autoelectric came at just the right time.
After the first interview in Floß I could already imagine getting started there, because the atmosphere was relaxed and informal.
My gut instinct, coupled with its regional proximity, made it easy for me to decide on a dual course of studies in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the college in Ingolstadt and the practical training at Nexans autoelectric.
In the beginning I still had doubts as to whether I had made the right decision, because of the main focuses of the subject areas. However, the professional practice and the contact with other dual students within the company helped me. Now I know that it was the right decision.
I spend time in all departments and am therefore gaining a good insight into and understanding of how the company processes interrelate. The regularly held information presentations by different departments are a valuable additional asset for all the new employees.
Colleagues really take the time to explain tasks and contexts to me. I feel well-accepted and integrated in all departments.
Best prospects
In early 2019, I successfully completed my bachelor's degree and Nexans autoelectric offered me the opportunity to take the next step in my career with a dual master's degree. The course of studies "Electrical Engineering of Mobile Systems" focuses, in particular, on the development of new products for hybrid and electric vehicles. I already dealt with this topic quite intensively during my three-year apprenticeship and as part of my bachelor thesis.
The contents of the Master's program and my area of responsibility in the company match each other perfectly, as my colleagues and I develop solutions for electric vehicles. I also see interesting prospects for me in the longer term, as Nexans autoelectric is very well positioned in the field of electric mobility.
