Nexans autoelectric Group holds its own in a challenging market environment

Floß 26.02.2025. The uncertainties in the automotive industry and the general stagnation in vehicle sales compared to the previous year also shaped the sales situation of the Nexans autoelectric Group in 2024.

Despite this difficult market environment, the Floß-based automotive supplier was able to maintain sales at 749 million euros, almost on a par with the previous year. E-mobility grew slightly, but was a little below expectations due to a slowdown in demand for BEVs. Divisional sales amounted to around a quarter worldwide and just under 30% in Europe.

At the end of 2024, the Group had 13,660 employees worldwide, including 600 in Germany.

Investments in the future ensure competitiveness
Gregor Spuhler, CEO of the Group, is cautiously optimistic about the future: "Despite the enormous challenges, we continue to position ourselves as a reliable partner to OEMs with forward-looking innovations and strategically important offerings. On the market side, this includes the expansion of our Wiring Systems division coupled with stable footholds in engine wiring and components for assistance systems. In terms of systems and processes, we score points with our self-developed IT tools and production automations, which give us a competitive edge. Based on current forecasts, we expect a noticeable increase in sales for the current year."
