Floß, 28.08.2024. Bavarian-based automotive supplier Nexans autoelectric increased its turnover to 396 million euro in the first half of 2024, which corresponds to growth of just under two percent compared to the same period last year. The e-mobility business division continued to develop well. The company equips electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles with high-voltage wiring harnesses and engine cable sets. From a regional perspective, the Chinese market in particular recorded significant growth.
Nexans autoelectric invested around 30% more in the first half of 2024 than in the same period of the previous year. These investments flowed into new, highly automated production processes, optimized safety processes, and intelligent software applications. For years, the company has focused on developing its own comprehensive software solutions, particularly in the areas of development, logistics, and production.
The Group currently employs around 14,000 staff in ten countries, including around 500 at the headquarters in Floß.
Midway through the year, the third generation of managing directors took over management of the nearly 60-year-old company. Gregor Spuhler, the Group's new Managing Director, also expects a slight increase in sales in the second half of the year compared to the same period last year: "In view of the current reluctance of consumers to buy purely electric vehicles and the uncertainties in the market, we expect growth to be rather subdued in the current year. However, with the launch of new projects in 2025, we're likely to see a significant increase in sales again."
The Nexans autoelectric Group is a leading supplier of drive cabling, complete wiring systems, and components for assistance systems, primarily for vehicles in the high-end segment.
