Floß (Oberpfalz), 02.08.2023. With 388 million euros in the first half of the year, the Upper Palatinate-based automotive supplier, which specializes in drive cabling, wiring systems, and components for assistance systems, increased its sales by 24 percent compared to the same period last year. This is the third consecutive year of double-digit growth for the company. The increases were seen worldwide in all regional markets in which the Group operates – Europe, North America, and Asia.
The E-Mobility business unit, which started in 2007 with the supply of high-voltage cable harnesses for test vehicles, now accounts for around 30 percent of total sales. According to CEO Andreas Wolf, this share is likely to increase to around 40% in the next few years. This is due not only to increasing volumes of existing equipment components, but also to the opening up of further areas of application with new developments. However, engine wiring harnesses will remain part of the company's core business in the near future in view of high global sales of internal combustion engines.
The Nexans autoelectric Group currently employs 14,200 people in ten countries, nearly 500 of whom work at the company's headquarters in Floß.
Andreas Wolf is optimistic about the future: "Provided no new major crises hit us, we expect sales of a good three-quarters of a billion euro in 2023 and further growth in 2024. In connection with this, our ongoing goal in terms of the environment and sustainability is to leverage the potential in these areas at an early stage and transform it into successful solutions."
